Hospitality, one of the greatest values of pilgrims and, dare we hope, of different religions. If Jews, Christians and Muslims seem to agree to make a virtue of hospitality, it also seems that the closer the “tribes” and “families”, the more difficult the relationship. How is this possible? Perhaps because we treat it as our own flesh, that is to say “poorly” because we don’t love ourselves.

Being a host to the other, to the most miserable, to “visit” him is to accept our own nothingness. Once this nothingness has been accepted, there is room for everyone inside ourselves.
The path is “giving birth”, it reveals, enlightens; “Go towards yourself”, says YHWH to Abraham. The path itself is pacifying; it can be a long asceticism, sometimes, but practicing the prayer of the heart and constant invocation during the walk will inexorably lead the pilgrim towards the essential, the one thing necessary: love (of oneself). This should be the pilgrim’s sole concern.

The project of the Universal Pilgrims' Fraternity will be to re-acknowledge hospitality towards pilgrim and man, and the place of this passage.

This website is intended for all those who have heard the calls to ‘be’ and to ‘set forth’, whatever their point of departure or destination… What matters is the journey… each ‘imprint’ left in the sands and winds of time...

A pilgrimage is just that… the opportunity to undertake a solitary and sacred journey and to experience the parable of our whole destiny… It is our wish that this Internet website be a travelling companion, somewhere to share addresses, thoughts, traditions and prayers, in a spirit of fraternity among pilgrims ‘passing by’ on (this) earth.
When our steps tire or stop, we hear the whispered « ultreya »… the encouragement to take one more step… When our pace hastens or grows impatient, it opens our eyes… The light is not at journey’s end… it is there at every step along the way…
Fare thee well. And happy travels!

Take your time, for Time will take you no longer… It may take your pouch and worn-out supports… but never the Breath of Eternal Life within you….
